To meet AAA national warranty requirements, it comes with a 3-year free replacement period
followed by 3 years of prorated discounted pricing as follows:


• For batteries found defective in months 37 to 48 from the original date of purchase, a discount
of 40% of NAPA’s applicable AAA member retail price or non-AAA member retail price will be
provided.


• For batteries found defective in months 49-60 from the original date of purchase, a discount of
25% of NAPA’s applicable AAA member retail price or non-AAA member retail price will be
provided.


• For batteries found defective in months 61-72 from the original date of purchase, a discount of
10% of NAPA’s applicable AAA member retail price or non-AAA member retail price will be
provided.

NAPA stores are authorized and encouraged to administrate the warranty for all AAA-branded
batteries regardless of where the battery was originally purchased with proof of purchase. This affords our NAPA stores and Wholesale customers the opportunity to gain new customers and additional service sales. All three AAA-branded battery suppliers have established this reciprocal process to ensure the best consumer experience. NAPA stores will be made whole by East Penn as if they had sold the battery originally. All AAA-branded battery warranties should be processed no differently than other NAPA batteries. The BASF (2282AAA-NAPA Adj Summary Form dated May 2022) has been updated to include a column for the competitive part number if it was purchased outside of the NAPA system. It is critical that non-NAPA sourced AAA battery part numbers are identified on the form.

NAPA requires a customer receipt for all battery returns, regardless of where the battery was purchased. In the event the customer is unable to produce a receipt and all other proof of purchase means are exhausted, the NAPA store is to utilize the date code on the side of the battery as the
purchase date and honor credit accordingly.

Do not replace it with a non-AGM battery. Until a comparable AGM SKU is available in AAA Premium line, we should advise the consumer that their battery is not yet available in the NAPA AAA line and offer a Legend Premium AGM Battery in exchange following the warranty replacement calculations described in this FAQ.
